I wonder how expensive I am....

You are Mohair
You are Mohair. You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with
others, doing your share without being too
weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely
refuse to change your position once it is
set, but that's okay since you are good at
covering up your mistakes.

What kind of yarn are you?

Confession Time

The boss made me do it. We went to Durango last Saturday to visit the new yarn shop, appropriately named Yarn. What a blast. They had lots and lots of yarn, books, patterns, and tea! We both spent way too much money, but oh the satisfaction.

She is SO the boss

Here is a picture of Diva sitting on the scarfs I finished over the weekend. I have to hide them or she drags them all over the house. The yarn is Blue Heron beaded rayon. This stuff drapes beautifully and has a wonderful hand to it. I can't wait for it to cool down so I can actually wear one! The patterns are from Iris Schrier (hope I spelled that right.) I just got her new book, Modular Knits, and it has some great patterns in it. I might need some more yarn!

I got a new toy

Mom was at the thrift store the other day and found a Boye Needlemaster set for $2.00 It is not complete, but I am hoping to find the missing peices on ebay. Two of the needles had the adaptors screwed in so tight I couldn't get them off, but Don saved the day with a pair of vice grips. I need to buff one needle, but other than that it was a great bargain for $2.00.

Oh, here is a pic Val sent to me. This is soooo cute!!

Summer semester is almost over, one more week. After that I am going to try and get the charts done for the Shadow knit scarf. I am excited about how many people are waiting for this. I'm gonna start working on it next week, so be patient!

Knit scarf

This is the knit scarf I made for my daughter's choir teacher. It is done using the shadow knitting technique. Looking at it straight on it looks like black and white stripes. When you look at it from an angle, you can see the music notes. I used lots of graph paper and excel to do the charts. The teacher really liked it and I am kind of proud of this one. I haven't done anything else with shadow knitting, but there are all kinds of ideas floating around in my head. It was not that hard to do, just knit and purl.

Mom's Afghan

I made this afghan a few years ago for my mom. You can't really see it in this picture, but there are zigzag diagonals throughout the afghan. The pattern is from Crochet with Heart magazine. The yarn is Red Heart fleck. I don't think they make that yarn anymore. I wish they did because I liked it and would like to have some more.

Today's the day

I am going to post pictures of the stuff I have knitted and crocheted. If I can find where I got the pattern, I will post that as well. I have been knitting since I was about 12, crocheting since I was about 24. My Aunt taught me to knit right-handed, but since I taught myself to crochet, I do that left-handed. I am okay reading knitting patterns, but crochet is another thing; sometimes stuff comes out backwards unless I remember to switch it around. Anyway, here are my pics; I hope you like them.
