Knit scarf

This is the knit scarf I made for my daughter's choir teacher. It is done using the shadow knitting technique. Looking at it straight on it looks like black and white stripes. When you look at it from an angle, you can see the music notes. I used lots of graph paper and excel to do the charts. The teacher really liked it and I am kind of proud of this one. I haven't done anything else with shadow knitting, but there are all kinds of ideas floating around in my head. It was not that hard to do, just knit and purl.

Mom's Afghan

I made this afghan a few years ago for my mom. You can't really see it in this picture, but there are zigzag diagonals throughout the afghan. The pattern is from Crochet with Heart magazine. The yarn is Red Heart fleck. I don't think they make that yarn anymore. I wish they did because I liked it and would like to have some more.

Today's the day

I am going to post pictures of the stuff I have knitted and crocheted. If I can find where I got the pattern, I will post that as well. I have been knitting since I was about 12, crocheting since I was about 24. My Aunt taught me to knit right-handed, but since I taught myself to crochet, I do that left-handed. I am okay reading knitting patterns, but crochet is another thing; sometimes stuff comes out backwards unless I remember to switch it around. Anyway, here are my pics; I hope you like them.
